There are two main objectives with this study. The first objective is to expose you to numerous artworks. A few of you were having trouble knowing what type, style or medium of art you prefer. As you get exposed to different types of art and artists, you almost intrinsically start dichotomize the images into yes (I like) and no (I don’t like). It is very important to being understanding what you like and don’t. Part of becoming independent within the Independent Study course is to know this difference.
The second objective is to familiarize you’re the elements and principle of design. Because each element (line, shape, value, color, texture, form and space) is represent in principle of design. At this point, we do not need to study the elements exclusively. The elements will be used to understand the principles. For example, we will use line, shape, value, color, texture, form and space to understand the principle of emphasis.
Lastly, to divide the work and make the study social, you will work in groups.
Project: Design Cycle Study
Due Date: September 17
The main purpose of this project is to familiarize you with the Art Design Cycle. Every project from here on out, will be created with showing evidence of using this design cycle. I happened to choose Miro and pictures that I took during Eid as our subjects of inspiration. I apologize if any any of you are not inspired by these to subjects. Please bare with me on this one last project. It will be the last one that I direct. The rest of the projects with be of your own individual liking.
